What is the temperature like?

Temperatures are pleasant and comfortable, with wildflowers blooming across the countryside. Pack light layers as the average high temperatures range from 68° - 74° but drop to the mid-50’s at night. Light rain is a possibility and local street vendors sell umbrellas but most hotels lend them out to guests free of charge.

Where should I stay?

We recommend reserving accommodations at Collegio alla Querce for Friday & Saturday primarily for the convenience of getting to and from the wedding. AirBnB is another suitable option but it’s important to select a location easily accessible by taxis as scheduling transportation can be tricky (no Uber!) in Florence - plan accordingly.

How do I get around?

The best way to get around Florence is by foot. In fact, you can walk from one end of the city to the other in about 30 minutes, passing many recognizable sites along the way. Uber does not exist here however there is a Taxi App called itTaxi and designated taxi stands located in most major squares, tourist spots and transport hubs. Hopping aboard an ATAF bus is another option, however renting a car is not recommended; narrow, one-way streets make driving incredibly difficult and many streets are relegated for pedestrians or authorized traffic only.

“Must haves”?

• A valid passport that doesn’t expire for at least 6 months.

• European converters for your electronics.

• Euros. While there are ATM’s the rates in Italy aren’t the best.

• Light jacket/shawl for the evening.

• Cobblestone compatible footwear.

• In the event of delayed luggage, a carry on with your necessities for a 1-2 day time period is recommend.

Children?

You’re welcome to bring the entire family to Italy, but please be sure to arrange childcare throughout the weekend as the events being hosted will cater to adults only — children are not intended to join any of the wedding events or wedding related festivities.
